ZOO Košice

The Košice ZOO is the largest ZOO in Slovakia. It is located in the suburb Košice - Kavečany. It is situated in the woods and has been open since 1986. Its area, extending to 288 hectares, consists of meadows, forests and also artificially created ponds. Cafeterias, playgrounds and pony rides cannot be missed either.

Animals: 150 types of animals - mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish

Specialty: mostly animals of Eurasian fauna

Important species: Hucul horses, brown bear, Siberian tiger Sumatran, lynx, Siberian ibex, chamois, European bison, Chapman's zebra, baboon, Przewalski horse, a Shetland pony, chamois, nilgai antelope, hungarian cattle, as Tibetan, kulan - donkey, ostrich, emu

Other popular exposition: anaconda yellow, royal python, boa gray, Cuban boas, Red-barbs, goldfish, different kinds of turtles, waterfowl, raptors, owls, exotarium, monkeys, parrots, as well as livestock
