Zemplínská Šírava - Hôrka Campsite
The Zemplínská Šírava - Hôrka campsite is a natural campsite situated right on the banks of the Zemplínská Šírava (note that there is a campsite with the same name nearby, but it is not located right by the water). But there is a chance of parking in the shade of trees or right by the water. There is plenty of space and you will find privacy even in the hot summer months when the traffic is at its highest. Behind the campsite there is a resort with buffets and fast food, several guesthouses and restaurants as well as sports grounds. Of course, there are sandpits and various children's attractions including classic climbing frames, mini carousels and retro climbing frames in the original 1980s style. Families with children can also enjoy a scenic ride on the local tourist train, which runs in the summer months. There is plenty of choice to suit all tastes.
Zemplínska Šírava offers plenty of opportunities for sports or social activities. Local buffets, guesthouses and restaurants organise social events, activities, and discos. From spring to autumn, motorboats may be rented, or sightseeing tours may be booked in several places. There are also local boat, pedalo, and paddleboard rentals, as well as wakeboarding and wake surfing for the adrenaline junkies. In the summer months, you may also explore the surroundings in an unconventional way, by road tourist train.

Tips and points of interest in the area:
In the summer months, children will enjoy a tour on a road tourist train. The whole family will have fun renting a motorboat or boat. In case of bad weather, you may visit the nearby Thermalpark Šírava. If you fancy a bit of hiking, the medieval church of Senderov guarantees nice views. Other hiking tips in the area include the Chlmecká Skalka rock, the Jasenovský Hrad castle, and the Malé Morské Oko mountain lake.
