Rope bridge in Ptrukša

The Bridge connects two villages Boťany and Ptrukša through Latorica and has been in operation since 1968. This bridge was built in 50´s of last century by people from Ptrukšan and is very popular even today. It serves as an important shortcut to the railway reloading station in Čierna nad Tisou. This is where Medzibrožie and Použie meet, but also three states - Slovakia, Ukraine and Hungary. The rope bridge is 45 meters long and one meter wide, consisting of wooden planks above the river Latorica in the elevation of 7 meters. In 1968 it was built by workers from the region, who used it shorten their journey to work in the railway reloading station in Čierna nad Tisou. The railway was the only employer in the area. Today it is used by cyclists from Hungary, Slovakia, Czech Republic and from Ukraine.
