Museum and Cultural Center of Southern Zemplín in Trebišov
This museum is based in a baroque – classical manor house from the 18th century that was built on the remains of castle Parič. The museum collects and displays objects representing the history of the Trebišov District. It specializes in the history of agriculture and Tokaj wine. The History of Agriculture in Eastern Slovakia exhibition documents the development of agriculture from the Neolithic times up to the present day. Wine lovers will enjoy the exhibition dedicated to the development of viticulture and vineyards in the Tokaj region starting in the middle of the 13th century. The other expositions are focused on handicrafts of southern Zemplín (blacksmith, wheelwright, and cordage), folk costumes and folk woodcarving and sculpture of this region. The development of farming is documented by exhibitions of agricultural machinery. Another interesting exposition is the one dedicated to the development of wheat threshing in eastern Slovakia.
