Hornád - Milič Educational Trail
Are you familiar with the basic principles and rules of ecotourism? Thanks to the revitalisation and expansion of the older Upper Abov Educational Trail presenting the traditional Abov countryside, the most important tourist attractions and services in the southernmost subregion of the Slanské Vrchy Mountains were connected, creating a complex product based on the principles of ecotourism.
The educational trail connects tourist attractions between the villages of Trstené pri Hornáde, Ždaňa, Skároš, Nižná Myšľa, and Vyšná Myšľa, which are located in the vicinity of Košice. The trail is almost 61 km long and consists of several circuits that give you the opportunity to plan and combine different routes according to the season, fitness, and interest. A digital tourist map with GPS navigation is also available (https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/1/viewer?hl=sk&mid=1Dg__cMHXWkPuiCbEBC6rnf0A0eG4uef7&ll=48.585401802650956%2C21.406039913721234&z=12).
The Hornád - Milič educational trail consists of six wooden stands (one in each village), which are equipped with painted maps of the destination and information informing the public about the rules of ecotourism. Other 12 information boards contain information on natural and cultural attractions and their preservation.
In the village of Skároš, remember to stop by the World War II Monument and in Nižná Myšľa do not hesitate to visit the Archeoskanzen and the Municipal Museum both of them displaying archaeological and cultural monuments of the region.
