Camp Košice - Route E58
The Košice - Barca municipal district is one of the twenty-two city districts of Košice. The natural borders of Barca are formed by the Myslavský Potok stream from the northern part, by the railway line from the eastern part, the western border is formed by the airport, and the north-south direction is crossed by the road in the direction of the Hungarian border. The oldest document on Barca was preserved from 1269, from the period after the Tatar invasion.
The only campsite in Košice "Camp Košice – Route E58" is only 4 km from the historic centre of the city. You may reach the campsite by following the European Route 58 (E58) in the direction from Šaca to Prešov.
Camp Košice - Route E58 has been in operation since 1988 and is an ideal place for relaxation. During their stay, its visitors live here as a community, exchange tips for trips, but also life stories in the evening by the fire. In the camp, mobile homes, cabins, parking for caravans and tent sites may be rented all year round for adventurers and families with children. The added value of the camp is in the form of an herb and vegetable garden, as well as booths and feeders, where visitors may observe birds and bats through binoculars. Children can play to their heart's content on the wooden playground, and thanks to the barbecue shelters, your pleasant moments by the fire are protected from unexpected rain. All these constructions are mostly made of natural materials. The camp area is also a great place for arranging and organising various cultural and social events, such as meetings of caravanners, bikers or various fans of motoring, sports, and animal breeders, but also for organising children's, birthday or family celebrations, barbecues and weddings.
From the campsite, visitors may make trips to the Gemer, Spiš or Zemplín regions, and the reception of the campsite will be happy to advise them on this. Within the region, it is possible to visit the underground world of the Jasovská, Krásnohorská, Ochtinská, Gombasecká or Dobšinská ice caves, or ancient castles and mansions such as Betliar, Krásna Hôrka, Turnňa, the Spiš Castle or the Slanec Castle. Trips to Tokaj for excellent wine or within Košice are also popular, which in themselves offer a lot of cultural and social enjoyment.
